About Royals Baseball Club
Why was RBC created?
The Royals Baseball Club was created for a few different reasons. The first is we saw a need for development prior to players starting high school baseball. Unlike other sports, we do not have junior high baseball. The RBC will allow our teams to begin playing in the spring (when many travel programs have to wait for junior high baseball to end) and get development from the high school coaches.
We also noticed that players who played together prior to high school had a greater chemistry which led to more success on the field. The program is intended to be a developmental program for players 13-14 years old who are committed to attending Hamilton Southeastern High School (Fishers, Indiana). The Royals Baseball Club and the HSE high school program are operated separately.
Teams and Coaches
Tryouts are held each year in late July. During try outs RBC staff will select the best players based on position and skill set to create a team that we think can be successful. We will select up to two teams per age level. HSE baseball staff help organize and run practices. Coach at each level are selected by the HSE baseball staff. Coaching staff could include a parent, HSE baseball alumni and/or HSE baseball staff member.
The Season
Practices begin in September with positional work basics leading up to team work and ending the fall with our intra squad games. Winter workouts are once a week at Mojo Up Fieldhouse starting in January. As weather allows, outdoor practices will be at Hamilton Southeastern High School varsity and JV diamonds. Parents are welcome at practices. All fall and winter practices are planned and instructed by HSE baseball coaching staff. 15U players do not have any off-season workouts as they will be participating in HSE high school baseball workouts leading up to tryouts.
The 13U and 14U seasons will begin as early as late March and usually run through mid-July. The 15U teams begin their season the weekend following Memorial Day and play through July.
